Singapore was a mix of wonderful experiences and learning opportunities. From the moment I landed in the city, my expectations soared regarding its sustainability practices and the deep connection to nature that society embraces. Coming all the way from my hometown in Mexico and my university in Canada, the lifestyle and culture felt so different—yet incredibly exciting.

I had the opportunity to take two major courses in sustainability and urban life sciences at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), one of the most prestigious schools in Asia! My learning experience was greatly enriched by professors and students from all around the world who shared their thoughts, perspectives, and experiences on how Singapore became one of the leading countries in sustainable development. I am very grateful to the entire team at Lakehead University for making my journey pleasant and comfortable.
