Nominations are now open for the 2023 Impactful Actions Awards! The annual award recognizes leaders who are making a profound impact in communities globally by inspiring collaborative solutions to difficult problems. The award launched in 2021 and now includes two categories – Young Leader and Lifetime Achievement.

This new funding opportunity offers grants that can range from $30,000 to $300,000 per year for up to three years to support Canadian academic researchers collaborating on research projects with international researchers from the academic sector. Applicants may apply any time until 8 pm (ET) on January 31, 2024.

Mobilizing Insights in Defence and Security (MINDS) has partnered with the NATO Defense College (NDC), located in Rome, Italy, to offer members of the Canadian defence and security expert community an opportunity to conduct a five-month fellowship, from February to July each year, at the College as part of the NDC Research Division. The selected fellow will receive a $100,000 grant to cover all expenses related to this opportunity.

PCC Research Grants support projects advancing knowledge in the anti-doping sphere. Pre-Applications are reviewed three times per year: March 1, July 1, and November 1. Applicants are encouraged to review the research priorities of the PCC before applying. Applicants that are invited to complete a full application, are encouraged to review the instructions below. Full Applications are due on the first day of the month following the pre-application deadline.

Brain Canada and the Alzheimer Society of Canada are pleased to announce the launch of the Knowledge Translation and Exchange (KTE) Accelerator Grants! The purpose of the KTE Accelerator Grants program is to help accelerate the dissemination of scientific findings on Alzheimer’s and related dementias to various audiences beyond academic researchers. 

KTE Accelerator Grants are designed to stimulate innovative, out-of-the-box, ideas that ensure research translates into implementation and eventually impact. These grants provide researchers with the funding needed to develop KTE products relevant to their work in the field of Alzheimer’s and related dementias. 

Up to $200,000 CAD is available for up to three years. Total grant amounts are flexible to accommodate the needs required to produce a range of KTE products, but the minimum budget allowed is $5,000 CAD and the total budget cannot surpass $200,000 CAD. 

Who can apply? 

• Current and past Alzheimer Society Research Program (ASRP) grant and award recipients 
• Current and past recipients of a Brain Canada funded grant focused on Alzheimer’s and related dementias research 
• Current research leads of the Canadian Consortium on Neurodegeneration in Aging (CCNA)

The specific objectives of this funding opportunity are:

• To improve the efficacy of current detection, diagnosis, prognosis and treatment of cancers, through the development of novel approaches based on a better understanding of cancer epigenetics.
• To stimulate new partnerships between researchers and clinicians and support original, high-quality projects, with significant clinical impact.

The purpose of this funding opportunity is to support projects that use data from existing Canadian-based cohorts, databases, cohort catalogues, and data platforms, and are relevant to human development, child and/or youth health with the goal to inform improved patient, population, and system outcomes.
