Master of Public Health with Specialization in Social-Ecological Systems, Sustainability and Health

Specializations in the MPH and MHSc programs include a defined collection of courses taken from specific areas of study that complement the overall degree requirements. Note: The Specialization will be referenced on the transcript.

Specialization Requirements

All students in the Master of Public Health program with Specialization in Social-Ecological Systems, Sustainability and Health must complete a total of 7 full-course equivalents (FCEs), of which 3.5 FCEs are required core courses, 2.0 FCEs are electives courses, and 1.5 FCEs consist of a 400-hour Practicum. These are fully described in the Academic Calendar.

Students in the Specialization in Social-Ecological Systems, Sustainability and Health must take two specific courses (0.5 FCE for a total of 1.0 FCE) as electives (HESC 5011: Canadian Food Systems and HESC 5012: Perspectives in Ecological Health) and complete their 400-hour Practicum in an area related to Social-Ecological Systems, Sustainability, and Health.
