Unique MBA Program Offered at Lakehead - First Class Commences September 2009

(March 2, 2009 - Thunder Bay, ON) Starting September 2009, Lakehead University will be offering a Master of Business Administration (MBA) program. The program is designed to develop versatile, multi-purpose graduates who can adapt and thrive in various business situations anywhere in the world.

The program is notably different from MBAs offered at other institutions. Accepting students from a wide range of backgrounds, it will develop business generalists, able to adapt to a variety of business situations and demands. And the program is available at a cost lower than other MBAs in Ontario.

Dr. Bahram Dadgostar, Dean of Lakehead's Faculty of Business Administration, says "The program will develop graduates with strong management skills, suitable for a wide range of organizations anywhere in the world. This degree will position a graduate well--whether he or she works for a multinational or a smaller local company, or whether he or she works for government or as an entrepreneur. Students will have an exciting learning experience involving case studies, field projects, talks, and conferences. They will experience a very desirable student-to-professor ratio."

Currently, Lakehead offers a Master of Science in Management and a Master of Management program through the Faculty of Business Administration. Using a varied mix of teaching techniques including the case study method, reading seminars, group project work, role-playing, and traditional text and lecture methods, these programs expose participants to learning situations which increase both their analytical skills and their flexibility in decision-making. These programs have a 100% success rate for job placement for graduates. The new Master of Business Administration program will build on the success of these existing graduate programs.
