Lakehead's men's team comprises approximately 20 wrestlers and its women's team comprises approximately ten wrestlers. Both teams will face six other university teams during the OUA tournament and fifteen university teams during the subsequent CIS matches.
Brock Curtis, Head Coach of Lakehead's men's and women's wrestling teams, notes that both teams are heading into the OUA and CIS events with strong standing, which he believes can only create an even more dynamic atmosphere for those who come to watch. "The skills and dedication of our veteran wrestlers and new team members give me every confidence that our teams will fare well, and that all other teams will leave here impressed with the quality of Lakehead's wrestling program," he says. Curtis led the men to win the OUA championship in 2009/2010.
