Take a study break and join Student Health & Wellness for a Stress Buster! Painting is a great way to practice grounding in the present moment and creatively express emotions. We will have a variety of surfaces and paints for you to experiment with!

Outdoor Mindful Meditation

Take a mindful pause with us during CMHA Mental Health Week. Join SHW Counsellor Holly Maki for a calming outdoor meditation session at the Wellness Path Labyrinth, located by the Bora Laskin Education Building. This guided practice will help you ground yourself, connect with nature, and recharge.

Open to all members of the Lakehead community—students, staff, and faculty are all welcome. No experience necessary.

Student Health and Wellness Open House

As part of CMHA’s Mental Health Week, drop by for a behind-the-scenes look at the supports available to Lakehead students. Meet the team—counselling, medical, and wellness staff will be on hand to answer your questions, walk you through how our services work, and chat about ways to support student wellbeing. While you're here, grab some resources and get to know the space! 

(OR) Spring Cleanup

Spring is in the air! Join Student Health and Wellness and the Orillia Engagement Committee for a Spring Cleanup - help clean up our community, enjoy the outdoors, get some exercise, and connect with others.  We'll meet in front of Simcoe Hall at 12pm, and then wander out towards University Ave and see where the litter takes us! There will be a second group heading out at 12:30pm as well.

Garbage bags, gloves, and hand sanitizer will be provided.

This event is open to students, staff, and faculty.

(OR) Build-Your-Own Exam Kits

To help get you through exams, the Student Affairs department is offering build-your-own Exam  Kits in Simcoe Hall! Stop by any time from April 2nd - 17th to get what you need to have a healthy and successful exam period. You can also check-in with your mental health with the WellU Key Mobile Kiosk! Kit items include:

  • Fruits
  • Granola bars and other snacks
  • School supplies
  • Fidgets
  • Study and stress management tips
  • And more!

As the academic year winds down, take time to thank those who helped you get through it, whether it be a prof, roommate, family member, GA, or colleague.   Use the form below to send a note to someone you are grateful and Student Health and Wellness will deliver it to them before  April 10.
