INTRODUCTION:
The Department of Mathematics is pleased to announce that work is beginning on the Eighth Annual TD Canada Trust Northwestern Ontario High School Mathematics Competition.  Like previous years, this contest promises to be a full day of mathematics and fun.  Keep watching this website as we add more information in the weeks leading up to the contest. 
 
TUTORIALS:   
Once again the Department of Mathematics will be offering PRE-CONTEST PRACTICE SESSIONS weekly.  The sessions are scheduled each Wednesday 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. in the Ryan Building 2023, beginning Wednesday February 17, 2010.  All students are welcome and encouraged to take part.

08:30 - 09:15   - Registration (RB 1042)
09:15 - 09:30   - Welcome (RB 1042)
09:30 - 11:00   - Individual contest (RB 1042)
11:00 - 11:15   - Group Photo
11:20 - 12:15   - Lunch at OUTPOST
12:30 - 01:45   - Team Contest (Room assignments on door of Ryan Building 1042)
01:50 - 02:15   - Awards Presentation for Individual Contest (RB 1042)
02:15              - Students return to their schools
 
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
 
Contest Rules:  No calculators are allowed.  Each individual contest is 90 minutes in length, while the team contest is 75 minutes. 
Parking:  For teachers and/or students who drive to the contest, you do not need a parking permit (permits will not be checked on April 28).  Simply park your car and come to the Ryan Building to register.
 
Teachers and/or Chaperones:  During the individual contest, all teachers and chaperones are invited to Ryan Building 2023 for free coffee and goodies.
 
Contest Headquarters:  During the contest, students and/or teachers can find needed information by either checking the door of Ryan Building 1042, or going to Ryan Building 2023, our contest HQ.
 
Team Prizes:  Prizes for the Team Contest will be determined within one week of the contest.  Prizes will then be sent to the highschools to hand out. 
 
Out of town Prizes:  Prizes for students who are writing outside of Lakehead will receive their prizes and results within one to two weeks of the contest.
 
Solutions:  Solutions to both contests will appear appear on the website within one week of the contest.
