 Past Events

We have brought in a wide variety of speakers in relation to Aboriginal issues.

Winter Feast Potluck

Our Indigenous Law Students' Association (ILSA) also organized a Winter Feast. The potluck for all students, staff and honoured guests showed a real coming together of our community at the law school.

Adam Fiddler

After lunch, Adam Fiddler, a first-year law student who was formerly Chief of Sandy Lake First Nation told us some stories of how his community celebrates Christmas and other times when feasts occur. "Fiddler's Fables" was a great time of learning from Adam about his community with a culture that is quite unique.

Food collected

This winter feast is a tradition we look forward to carrying on each year (and probably a Fall Feast each year as well!).

The ILSA also collected food for a local women's shelter - and rather than collecting canned items, we were encouraged to bring fresh food. The photo on the left shows just some of the food collected.
