Our office continues to be open for phone calls and email Monday through Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm. If you need legal assistance, please call our office at (807) 346-7815 or email legalservices.law@lakeheadu.ca to book an intake appointment. Please note that for the protection of both clients and staff, intakes will be completed by telephone or Zoom video conferencing, for those who have computer access. Our administrative staff can help you choose the best option for you.
Welcome to Lakehead University Community Legal Services. We are a free legal clinic located in Lakehead University’s Faculty of Law building (PACI) at 401 Red River Road in Thunder Bay, Ontario.
Under the direct supervision of lawyers, Student Caseworkers offer free legal services to low income residents of Northwestern Ontario, including Thunder Bay, Fort William First Nation, Nipigon, Marathon, Schreiber and the municipality of Greenstone.
We offer services in the following practice areas:
- Minor Criminal Offences
- Serious Provincial Offences
- Tenant Rights
- Small Claims Court and Civil disputes under $35,000.00
- Employment Law
- Simple Wills and Powers of Attorney
