10.		Approval of Graduate Calendar Changes MOVED that the following Graduate Calendar Changes be approved: Faculty of Business Removal of Master of Management courses

11.		Definition of Full-time vs Part-time Status (Ms. Brenda Winter) MOVED that the University Regulations addressing the definition of full-time and part-time students be approved as amended by the Senate Budget Committee.

12.	12.1 12.2	Faculty of Law and Law Degree Program (Report of the Senate Academic Committee - Dr. Gillian Siddall) MOVED that Senate approves the Law Degree Program. MOVED that Senate approves the establishment of the Faculty of Law at Lakehead University.

13.		Senate Honorary Degrees Committee Terms of Reference Referral MOVED that the Senate Honorary Degrees Committee Terms of Reference be referred to the Senate Organization Committee.

14.		Senate Nominations Committee Report (Dr. Aristocles Carastathis) MOVED that the attached list of faculty members be appointed to Senate Standing Committees for the terms listed.

15.		LUSU Recommendations for Student Representatives on Senate Standing Committees for 2011-2012 (Ms. Neva Bassingthwaite) Additions are: ^{added KR May 13 2011} Senate Information Systems Committee 1. Meriem Benlamri 2. Michael Currie Senate Academic Appeals Committee: 1. Undergraduate Alternate – Sarah Riche MOVED that the LUSU recommendations for Student Representatives on Senate Standing Committees for 2011-2012 be approved.

16.		Senate Executive Committee Recommendations of faculty representatives to the Senate Nomination Committee Dr. Hubert de Guise for the term July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2013. Dr. Hao Bai for the term July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2013. Dr. Hope-Arlene Fennell for the term July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2013. Dr. Cheryl Lousley for the term July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2013. Dr. Qing-Lai Dang for the term July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2012 (sabbatical replacement). MOVED that the faculty representatives be appointed to the Senate Nominations Committee as listed.

17.		Amendment to the Senate By-laws (Ms. Karen Roche) MOVED that the Lakehead University By-laws Article XIII (61) Standing Committees be amended as follows: Standing Committees Senate Executive Committee 61. Normally, the Senate Executive Committee shall meet no less than 10 days at least two weeks prior to each Senate meeting.

18.	18.1	Graduands & Medals Approval of Undergraduate Degrees and Diplomas (Ms. Brenda Winter) *List was distributed at the meeting* MOVED that the candidates on the list distributed by the University Registrar be awarded the undergraduate degrees or diplomas indicated.

19.		Approval of Adjunct Professors MOVED that the following adjunct professors be approved: Faculty of Social Science & Humanities Dr. Sandra Jeppesen be approved as an Internal Adjunct Professor to the Department of English for the term July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2015. Faculty of Natural Resources Management Dr. Anthony Taylor be approved as an External Adjunct Professor to the Faculty of Natural Resources Management for the term July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2015. Dr. Charles Xu be approved as an External Adjunct Professor to the Faculty of Natural Resources Management for the term July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2015.

20.		Ad Hoc Committee to Review Policies ^{added KR May 13 2011} MOVED that the distributed list of faculty be appointed to the Senate Ad Hoc Committee to review the Internal Adjunct Policy, External Adjunct Policy, and the Professional Associates Policy and that the University Secretariat will be the support office for this work.

Dr. Zachery Suntres’ appointment as Internal Adjunct Professor to the Department of Biology has been renewed for the term July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2015. Faculty of Social Science & Humanities Dr. Kristen Burnett’s appointment as Internal Adjunct Professor to the Department of Indigenous Learning has been renewed for the term July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2015.
