Welcome to the Certificate in Inclusive Research Leadership Program offered by the Office of Research Services at Lakehead University

Certificate Overview:

This certificate program is designed to empower researchers to understand and embrace equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) within the research space. Each module/workshop will encourage researchers to think critically about how their research design and research team can be enhanced with EDI.  Researchers will also gain strategies and resources for implementing EDI within their research groups and projects. Upon completion of this course, researchers will better understand how to create an equitable and inclusive research space for team members of diverse identities and be equipped with tools to construct EDI-informed research projects/proposals. All five sections of the program must be successfully completed in order to earn the Certificate in Inclusive Research Excellence.

Time Commitment: 

The program is intended to be completed within one year of the start date. Other than the workshop delivered by the EDI Research Facilitator, all other modules are self-paced and asynchronous.

The certificate is now available through MyCourseLink using the self-registration feature. 

Steps to Register: 

1. Log into https://mycourselink.lakeheadu.ca

2. Click Self Registration on the bar at the top

3. Click Certificate in Inclusive Research Leadership

4. Follow the steps presented until it confirms that you've enrolled in the course. It will then appear on your https://mycourselink.lakeheadu.ca homepage
