BioCanRx, Canada’s Immunotherapy Network, is pleased to announce its 2019 Call for Letters of Intent. Selected Letters of Intent will be featured in the Scientific Program of our Cycle II application going forward for review in July 2019 to the federal government’s Networks of Centres of Excellence (NCE) Program.
Building on previous BioCanRx investments in Cycle I, the overarching goal of the Cycle II Research Program will focus on extending immunotherapy successes in the clinic beyond initial responders. To address this challenge, while making use of technologies in the BioCanRx pipeline or by soliciting new complimentary technology, BioCanRx will invest in projects aimed at understanding patient and/or tumour type limitation(s) and proposing improved novel therapies, trials, or combination approaches to overcome the identified limitation(s)

The objective of this application process is to support the development and implementation of innovative and collaborative approaches that improve the integration of highly skilled newcomers into the Canadian labour market.
The Government of Canada is accepting applications from organizations interested in receiving up to $800,000 in funding from the Foreign Credential Recognition Program (FCRP) per project that is up to 30 months in duration. Approximately 15 organizations will receive funding through this process.
The objective of the Idea to Innovation (I2I) Grants is to accelerate the pre-competitive development of promising technology originating from the university and college sector and promote its transfer to a new or established Canadian company. The I2I Grants provide funding to college and university faculty members to support research and development projects with recognized technology transfer potential. This is achieved through defined phases by providing crucial assistance in the early stages of technology validation and market connection.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the global pressures of population growth, urbanization, water shortages, and climate change impacts are increasing the agricultural demands for treated waste as a steady source of water and nutrients.[1] In addition, freshwater, nutrients, energy, and chemical compounds recovered from treated waste have found application in areas such as irrigation, horticulture, forestry, and industrial water supply. Further research is underway to explore mining waste for other valuable components that could be reused and recovered in other industries.
Collaborations between academia, government, and industry to recover water, nutrients, energy, and valuable chemicals from waste have the potential to yield commercial successes and be scaled up to global markets.
IC-IMPACTS and the Department of Biotechnology (DBT) invite researchers to submit proposals for projects that can be completed in two years (or less) and that focus on extracting Wealth from Waste.
Your proposal should offer biotechnology-driven research-based solutions, and reflect cost and space efficiencies required for deployment in cities such as Delhi, Kanpur, and Varanasi, or in locations with similar geographies.
Central to the successful proposal will be demonstrating a scalable technology that can be developed as a commercially viable option to extract wealth from wastewater and be applicable to rejuvenating polluted bodies of water such as the River Ganga in India.

Project proposals must be prepared and submitted together by companies in Canada and the UK according to the following eligibility criteria.
To be eligible through this call, projects must contribute to the development of commercial products, processes and/or technical services within 2 to 5 years of the completion of the project. Note: in the case of the enabling technologies theme, the commercialization horizon may be relaxed.

Projects involving research and development of products, processes or technologies with military and/or non-peaceful applications are not eligible for funding.
In order to be eligible for funding through this call for proposals, project consortia must include, at the minimum, participants as described below.
An enabling technologies project consortium must include at a minimum 4 participants:

An enhanced productivity project consortium must include at a minimum 2 participants:

Eligible participant types are defined below. The specific eligibility for each organization under Theme 1 or Theme 2 should be confirmed with your National Funding Body (Innovate UK or the NRC) as appropriate.
Any partner whose cooperative industrial R&D project is consistent with the aforementioned requirements can apply to the present call for proposals in accordance with the national laws, rules, regulations and procedures in effect.
The aim of the joint Canada-United Kingdom (UK) Call for Proposals on Enhanced Industrial Productivity is to foster and support eligible UK and Canadian organizations in pursuing collaborative projects that will deliver enhanced competitiveness via the development and application of novel technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), advanced manufacturing, and food production.
Funding to foster enhanced industrial productivity projects is available for eligible consortia of Canadian and UK organizations and researchers as outlined below. Project results are expected to contribute to the development of commercial products, processes and/or technical services.
