Operating Grant: SPOR PIHCI Network - Quick Strikes (Fall 2015 Competition)
Objectives
The specific objective of this funding opportunity is to support the conduct of rapid turn-around, time-sensitive, cross-jurisdictional research studies that align with the pan-Canadian Network’s Quick Strike research priorities (listed in the relevant research areas).

Priorities have been determined in consultation with the member networks and partners over the course of the summer and fall of 2014. A high-level summary of priorities is found below. Full descriptions of all relevant research areas can be found in a separate document that has been shared with the member networks. For information please contact spor-srap@cihr-irsc.gc.ca. Applicants must demonstrate how the proposed quick strike research project responds to one or more of the following priorities:
- Defining complex needs, identifying individuals with complex health and social needs and understanding their needs - priority populations include individuals with chronic conditions, mental health and addiction challenges, youth with chronic conditions who are transitioning to adult care, high users of the healthcare system, and individuals not attached to a primary care team;
- Innovation in integrated service delivery models that meet the needs of individuals with complex needs and that are focused on prevention, housing, community care and individuals with multi-morbidity and chronic conditions;
- eHealth innovations that improve person-centered, appropriate and integrated care;
- Integrating health promotion/disease prevention in care delivery models to prevent future needs for complex care;
- Patient’s role in maintaining their health: patient literacy;
- Supporting healthy aging and the needs of older adults through primary and integrated models of care;
- Outcome/value-based funding models that incentivize integration; or
- Understanding health outcomes that should be prioritized.
