Master of Health Sciences

The Master of Health Sciences program is an on-campus, thesis-based program that can be completed on a Full-time or Flexible full-time basis.

Applicants must indicate their areas of interest for a thesis when applying to the program. Admittance is dependent on faculty availability from among full-time faculty of the Department of Health Sciences.

Program Requirements

All students in the Master of Health Sciences program must complete a total of 5 full course equivalents (FCEs), of which 2.0 FCEs are required core courses, 1.0 FCEs are graduate level electives, and 2.0 FCEs consist of a Master's Thesis. These are fully described in the Academic Calendar.

About the Thesis

All students in the Master of Health Sciences program must complete a thesis worth 2.0 FCEs. Students must register in a 'placeholder' course in each term that they are working on the thesis.

Students must maintain continuous registration throughout the program and should register in a 'placeholder' course in each term that they are working on the thesis.

Note: Graduate level elective courses that are not Public Health courses must be approved by the Graduate Coordinator.
