Lakehead University is displaying paintings from the Chief Roy Michano Art Collection in the Thunder Bay International Airport.

Eight paintings are now visible throughout the airport, enhancing the space by educating and inspiring the public.

“We are proud to partner with Lakehead University to add something very special and unique to the Thunder Bay International Airport,” said Ed Schmidtke, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Thunder Bay Airports Authority.

“This will showcase the vast artistic talent in our region to hundreds of people every day,” Schmidtke said.

Lakehead President and Vice-Chancellor Dr. Brian Stevenson said he hopes the exceptional paintings will help inspire creativity in Northwestern Ontario.

“Artwork can affect people in many different ways. We hope those who see these paintings will wonder who created them, what the inspiration was, and what they mean,” Dr. Stevenson said.
