2015-2016 In Conversation Series Kicks Off with ‘Creating the Nazi Community of the People’

Lakehead University’s popular In Conversation series is preparing for its first event of the 2015-2016 academic year.
During the first In Conversation talk, Pins, Potlucks and Paid Holidays: Creating the Nazi Community of the People, History and Interdisciplinary Studies Associate Professor Dr. Valerie Hébert will use images and artifacts to illustrate how the Nazis created and perpetuated the illusion of unified social support for the Third Reich.
This presentation about techniques used by the Nazis to create the feeling of a community of the Volk, or ‘people’, will take place at the Orillia Public Library, on Tuesday, October 6 from 6:15pm – 8:00 pm.
