Lakehead's Formula SAE Team Receives International Coverage
Last year, Ryan Clark, one of the Project
Managers of the Lakehead University Formula Society of Automotive
Engineers (SAE) team, wrote an article about the ways by which Thunder
Wolf Racing has overcome various obstacles and managed to succeed when
so many other
well-funded teams have failed. The article was submitted to the
prestigious SAE International Magazine, and not only was it printed, but
the Lakehead team is also featured on the cover. Now, SAE alumni
around the world have a better appreciation of the LUFSAE team's
dedicated team members and its success to date.
All team members recognize the hard work of Dr. Sultan Siddiqui,
Kailash Bhatia, and valued sponsors for the development of the team and
its overall success.
In the last two years, LUFSAE has completed all racing events, which
is an achievement only half the competitors have been able to do. In
2009, Lakehead's team placed 43rd internationally and won the William
C. Mitchel's Rookie of the Year Award. In 2010, the team placed
39th internationally and 5th in Canada. Approximately 120 teams
(national and international) have competed in student SAE competitions
over the past two years.
