Jarrett Sylvestre

Jarrett Sylvestre has been a freelance writer and editor for the last 19 years. Gaining a MSc in Environmental Science (Chemistry) from the University of Western Ontario, he benefited from the multidisciplinary nature of the program. With a background that includes chemistry, physics, astronomy, biology, engineering, and anthropology, he brings both depth and breadth of knowledge to his writing. Published in mainstream press as well as scientific and technical fields, flexibility is an important facet of his method.

While working as a technician for the Department of Chemistry at Lakehead University, he has gained extensive experience in report writing and curriculum development in the sciences. He has also written successful grant proposals for non-profit organizations, including the Thunder Bay and District Chapter of Autism Ontario. He has continued to pursue writing as a passion and has sought out formal technical writing training on his own.

He can offer a wide range of support to researchers and academics on campus and in the surrounding areas. These include professional copyediting and proofreading, structural editing, proposal writing, and custom writing projects that fit the needs of individual professionals in a variety of fields. From grant proposals to academic publications to reports, he can work with researchers to develop crisp, concise submissions with professionalism and flexibility.
