Jamie Doran – Grant Writing & Research Strategy

Dr. Jamie Doran is one of Canada’s most experienced and successful grant writers, with over 25 years in the research and innovation space. He has helped secure more than $100 million in funding with a consistent success rate above 80%. His work spans all disciplines and includes everything from small research grants to large, multi-institutional initiatives involving infrastructure, training, and commercialization.

Jamie offers end-to-end support for NSERC (Discovery, Alliance, TAC, CCSIF), SSHRC, CIHR, CFI, FedDev Ontario, Mitacs, IRAP, eCampus, Ontario Research Fund, and other major funding programs. He also assists with internal proposals (e.g., strategic plans, RFPs, business cases) and provides targeted support for research teams under tight timelines and constrained budgets.

He has helped early-career researchers launch their programs, while also supporting entire research offices in building funding strategies to secure infrastructure, launch professional training programs, and develop community/industry outreach that leads to new research partnerships.
