This three-year leadership program is designed to train Engaged Leaders, equipping outstanding doctoral candidates with the skills to translate their ideas into action, for the betterment of their communities, Canada, and the world. Scholars are selected each year and receive leadership training in the context of Brave Spaces, in addition to generous funding for their studies.

To apply to the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Scholarship, you must meet the following eligibility criteria:

1) You must be already accepted into or in year one or two of a full-time doctoral program, and expected to complete your doctoral studies in 2025 or later.

2) Your field of study is broadly related to the humanities or human sciences of direct relevance to the future of Canada;

3) Your doctoral work must relate to at least one of the Foundation’s Four Themes: Human Rights and Dignity, Responsible Citizenship, Canada and the World, People and their Natural Environment.

4) Be a Canadian citizen studying at a Canadian or foreign institution, or a non-Canadian (permanent resident of Canada or foreign national) enrolled in a doctoral program at a Canadian institution.

Postdoctoral Diversity Enrichment Program (PDEP) provides a total of $60,000 over three years to support the career development activities for underrepresented minority postdoctoral fellows in a degree-granting institution in the United States or Canada whose training and professional development are guided by mentors committed to helping them advance to stellar careers in biomedical or medical research.

This new funding opportunity is open to early-career researchers within five years of starting their first independent research position. Through this program, Brain Canada will award 20 grants of $100,000 each to projects that successfully represent new lines of research with potential for significant impact on our fundamental understanding of the brain.

Interested applicants will be required to submit a Letter of Intent by November 16, 2021. Select applicants will be invited to proceed to the Full Application phase. The deadline to submit a Full Application is February 16, 2022.

University research awards are designed to encourage research at Canadian universities in areas of interest to Imperial Oil's petroleum, petrochemical and energy resource development businesses. These areas include the fields of engineering, environmental, earth, chemical, and physical sciences.

Awards for specific research projects are made to full-time faculty members to support research work carried out by university students under their direction.

Individual awards are normally available in amounts ranging from $10,000 to $25,000 depending on budgets for the proposed research, availability of funds, and potential significance of the research as determined by Imperial.

Awards are made for one year and may be renewed annually for a maximum tenure of three years. Successful award applicants and their universities will be required to sign the non-negotiable terms and conditions of the award.

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) is pleased to launch a call for proposals for its 2022 Social Science Research Grant Program (Grant Program); regarding which, we kindly ask Expressions of Interest (to be submitted via the Agency’s WADAGrants platform, by:

• 22 November 2021 (23:59 GMT) for Tier 1 and 2 projects; and
• 31 January 2022 (23:59 GMT) for smaller Tier 3 projects.

As part of WADA’s 2020-2024 Social Science Research Strategy – which aims to support WADA’s 2020-2024 Strategic Plan by focusing on impactful research – WADA’s Education Committee oversees the Agency’s Social Science Research for anti-doping, including the work undertaken by WADA’s Social Science Research Expert Advisory Group. The Social Science Research Grant Program was restructured last year following a review by WADA.
