Early Researcher Award Webinar

Lakehead University Researchers interested in the Early Researcher Award (ERA) Program are invited to attend a Ministry of Research, Innovation and Science webinar on the ERA program to be held on Friday, May 4 from 11:00 to 1:00 in ATAC 3004 (if any faculty members in Orillia are interested in viewing the webinar, arrangements will be made for their participation).

As part of the session, a Lakehead University faculty member with experience serving as an ERA panel chair will also provide tips related preparing ERA submissions to our researchers.

Lakehead University researchers are invited to attend a SSHRC Insight Development Grant information session on December 5, 2014 in OA2020 from 10-12. Insight Development Grants are specifically encouraging to emerging scholars or established scholars who wish to pursue a new topic of research. The session will be presented by Dr. Andrew Friesen from Research Services.  The session will provide an overview of the SSHRC Insight Development Grant program along with insights about the grant review process.

Upcoming Mitacs Session / Opportunities for Individual Faculty Meetings

Do you plan on applying for a SSHRC Insight Development Grant this winter?  Do you want a better idea about how the application review process works at SSHRC? 

If so, you are invited to attend a SSHRC Insight Development Grant Information Session on December 2 from 1-3 in ATAC 3004 (Orillia faculty members can participate in OA 3041). At this workshop, a Lakehead University faculty member, Dr. Lisa Korteweg, Faculty of Education, with experience chairing and serving on SSHRC Insight Development Grant review committees will share her knowledge regarding:
  • The review process at SSHRC.
  • What makes for a strong application?
  • What are Common pitfalls to avoid?
  • Highlighting Aboriginal research at SSHRC
