Welcome to the 2026 Engineering College to University Transition Program

The 2026 College to University Transition begins with an online Orientation on June 13-14, 2026, followed by summer courses from Monday, June 15 - Monday, August 31, 2026.

The program has three parts:

Part 1 runs from Monday, June 15 - Friday, July 10, 2026 and students will complete two courses online including quizzes/tests/midterms/final exams.

Part 2 in which students take two courses begins online Monday, July 13, 2026 and instruction in that half ends on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 online. Some course evaluations for this half (tests/quizzes/midterms) will be completed online.

Final exams in the courses will be in person in Thunder Bay on Monday, August 31, 2026 with a tutorial session for each course scheduled on Saturday, August 29, 2026.

Chemistry Labs for students taking ENGI 3014, Engineering Chemistry, will be done in person in Thunder Bay starting Monday, August 17, 2026 in slots of 3 hours per day until Friday, August 28, 2026. Instructor of this course will provide details and schedule.

The Orientation is a mandatory event designed for all new Engineering diploma-to-degree transfer students beginning their studies in the Summer 2026. At the Orientation you will have the opportunity to join Engineering clubs and societies, meet Lakehead engineering students, see Engineering Degree Capstone Projects, hear about the accomplishments of our students, join the Student Membership Program of the Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO), meet your Department Chair and receive academic planning advice.
