Lakehead University Environmental Law Students Association (LUELSA)

Lakehead University Environmental Law Students' Association (LUELSA) was founded second semester by a group of students who have an interest in environmental law and sustainability. The group aims to promote environmental awareness within the Faculty of Law. Come September the group hopes to address some of the recycling concerns and advocate for composting at the PACI campus. The group hosts events and sponsors guest speakers representing diverse viewpoints on pressing issues. They also maintain a Facebook Page that promote community events relating to law and the environment. They also share court decisions relating to environmental law from across the country. Next year they plan to get more involved in the fossil fuel divestment campaign already active on main campus.

Lakehead University's Women in Law Club

The club is focused on working towards equality for women in law whether it be women in legal practice, women studying law, or criminalized women. We have formed partnerships with the Elizabeth Fry Society as well as with the Northwestern Ontario Women's Centre. Volunteer opportunities will be available with both groups.
