Description: 

It’s a non-stop open house for all students (international and domestic), staff, and faculty in the International Student Centre. Stop by the ground floor of the Chancellor Paterson Library all week long.  Join in some creative activities, test your international knowledge, have some fun with flags, pose for some photos, sign up for our Global Runway event, and enjoy a treat. All are welcome!

We look forward to your presence at this meaningful event, which aims to foster deeper understanding and solidarity within our university community.

International Education Week: Global Runway

Walk the red carpet and share your culture on our Global Runway! Whether you wear traditional attire or something that represents your home country, we want you to showcase your culture.  We invite all students, staff, and faculty to dress in their traditional attire on November 22 and come strut their cultural couture down our red-carpeted runway. Join us to cheer on our culture and diversity. Coffee and cake will be served after the show. 

 

Interested in walking the red carpet? Here’s what to do: 

1. Decide what you would like to wear for the Global Runway. It can be traditional attire or something that represents your culture or country.

2. Sign up for the event! Don’t want to walk the carpet by yourself? Then, gather your friends and sign up as a group.

3. Once you sign up, we’ll email your Lakehead email for more details about the event. 

Sign-up is required to walk the runway.

This event is part of  #NoStigmaNovember, a Lakehead campaign aimed at stopping the stigma of struggling with mental health and normalizing seeking help when needed. We encourage all members of the Lakehead community to take action to support their own mental health and to create a campus culture that supports one another and encourages those to get help when needed.
