To help our incoming international students start off the 2023 winter term strong, with a clear understanding of the academic rules here at Lakehead University, Student Affairs is offering a free, 2-part workshop in collaboration with Lakehead International. Limited spots are available, so register today!10am-12pm

Part 1: Academic Integrity Matters (AIM) Course
The first part of this workshop will include an interactive tour through the AIM course material in a classroom setting. We will unpack each of the 8-modules from the AIM Course, discuss common academic integrity pitfalls and some often confusing grey areas. Students will work through each of the 8 quizzes and in the end, will receive their AIM Certificate of Completion.
      *please bring a laptop or tablet with capable of connecting to WIFI so you can follow along on D2L

Participants are encouraged to bring their favorite dish to share for lunch. This will provide a great opportunity to visit and socialize during the break with the other workshop participants.

Part 2: Academic Writing Workshop 
The second part of this interactive workshop will allow students to learn more about Lakehead's expectations for undergraduate/graduate-level academic writing. During the session, we will go through practice exercises to improve paraphrasing skills. The session will also provide students with a checklist for referencing their sources correctly.

Fire and Ice festival in Bracebridge: Orillia Campus

This is an annual festival in Bracebridge which is 45 minutes north of Orillia. The bus will depart at 11am from Lakehead University and 7pm from Bracbridge to arrive back to campus by 8pm. The festival includes lots of fun winter activities such as axe throwing, winter games and fireworks.

Drop by OA1013 on Monday, Wednesday or Friday from 9:30am to 12pm to sign up and pay for the trip before January 19.
