MOVED that the following Adjunct Professor appointments for the Faculty of Science and Environmental Studies be approved:

MOVED that Dr. Nicolas Lepine’s External Adjunct Professor appointment in the department of history be extended by one year (ending on June 30, 2021).

Lakehead University Student Union (LUSU) Appointment Recommendations (Ms. Lindsey Kelly)

MOVED that Leah Ching be appointed as the LUSU Executive member on the Senate Undergraduate Scholarships and Bursaries Committee effective immediately to June 30, 2018.

MOVED that Tannis Kastern be appointed as an undergraduate student member of the Senate Teaching and Learning Committee effective immediately to June 30, 2018.

MOVED that Ayyappa Kumar Sista Kameshwar be appointed as a student member of the Senate effective immediately to June 30, 2019.

  Informational Items

 

9.1

Late Additions to the List of Graduands (Ms. Andrea Tarsitano)

The Senate’s “Enabling Motion Graduands on Record” empowers the Dean of the Faculty and Registrar to approve late additions to the graduands’ list who had not appeared on the convocation list.  No motion is necessary.  The list will be posted to the Senate website.

 

9.2

Election Updates

Faculty Senator Election

Three eligible nominations were submitted.  Elections were conducted for a two week period, closing on June 2, 2017.

  • Dr. Connie Russell was elected as a Faculty Senator for the term commencing July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2018.

 

Faculty Senator on the Board Election

Nominations were accepted from May 8, 2017 to May 23, 2017.  One eligible nomination was submitted.

  • Dr. Carney Matheson was acclaimed as the faculty Senator on the Board with the term commencing at the close of the September 28, 2017 Board of Governors Annual Meeting through to the Board's Annual Meeting in 2020.

 

Librarian on the Senate Teaching & Learning Committee

Nominations were accepted from August 22, 2017 to September 5, 2017.  Once eligible nomination was submitted.

  • Ms. Moira Davidson was acclaimed as the librarian on the Senate Teaching & Learning Committee with the term commencing on September 6, 2017 to June 30, 2020.
