Students, staff and faculty are invited to attend Colour-Blind Canada: Boundaries, Bridges, and Laissez-Faire Racism in Indigenous-Settler Relations.

Dr. Jeff Denis, of McMaster University, will discuss sources of tension in Indigenous-settler relations, mechanisms maintaining laissez-faire racism, and the promise and limitations of commonly proposed bridges, such as contact, education, apologies, and collective action.

His talk came from 18 months of fieldwork, 160 interviews, and a photovoice project with Anishinaabe, Métis, and white residents of Northwestern Ontario.
