Enabling Accessibility Fund for small projects component

How to Apply:

The Government of Canada is currently accepting applications from eligible applicants interested in receiving grant funding up to $100,000 from the Enabling Accessibility Fund for small projects. This Fund supports the capital costs of construction, renovation and/or retrofit activities in workplaces and communities, as well as the provision of accessible technologies in:

  • Workplace stream: facilities where people with disabilities work, or could work in the future; and,
  • Community Accessibility stream: community spaces where programs and/or services are offered, or will be offered, to people with disabilities.

Notes:

  • Funded projects are expected to begin in spring 2019.
  • Eligible organizations can submit a maximum of one (1) Application for Funding per stream (Workplace and Community Accessibility Streams). If your organization chooses to submit two applications, one per stream, you must submit two separate Applications for Funding. If your organization has multiple offices/departments or sectors under a single Canada Revenue Agency business number, the limit of one application per stream is important to remember. Such organizations might include: school boards, dioceses (multiple churches under one diocese); municipalities (with various departments such as Parks & Recreation, Traffic, etc.) or some social organizations such as the YM/YWCA.
  • To determine the funding stream under which to apply, pay careful attention to the objectives below and eligibility requirements and select the one that best suits your project.

Since organizations are limited to the number of applications they can submit, interested applicants must notify the Office of Research Services (ahacquo1@lakeheadu.ca) by June 15 of their intention to apply to this funding opportunity.
