Due to rain, this event has been rescheduled to Friday, May 23, 2025.

Join Indigenous Initiatives and Student Health & Wellness for a relaxing day in the Wiigwasitig Gitigaan 'Birch Tree Garden' and Ambe Tigadaw 'Three Sisters Garden.' Get your hands dirty while meeting fellow students, staff, faculty, and community members. Everyone is welcome to connect with nature and be out on the land.

CMHA Mental Health Week: May 5–11, 2025

This year’s theme, “Unmasking Mental Health,” encourages us to look beyond the surface and see the whole person. Many people living with mental health or substance use challenges feel pressure to “mask” their true experiences to avoid judgment or stigma. But by embracing honesty and vulnerability, we can build stronger connections and foster greater understanding.

Throughout the week, explore CMHA’s national campaign, resources, and events at mentalhealthweek.ca and check out programming through your local CMHA branch.

On campus, Lakehead is offering a range of opportunities to support our community in unmasking mental health and showing up as our authentic selves:

Let’s work together to break down stigma and create space for real, open conversations about mental health.

CMHA Mental Health Week

Supporting Resilience on Campus

Navigating the post-secondary realm often involves adapting to difficult and unexpected challenges. Resilience helps us successfully overcome these challenges and maintain our well-being in the face of adversity. In this webinar, we are joined by Selena Norman from CICMH to discuss Thriving in the Classroom, a toolkit that provides staff with the necessary tools to create an environment that supports resiliency for both themselves and their students.

(OR) Wellness Walk

Take a mindful pause with us during CMHA Mental Health Week! Join Student Health and Wellness for a short walk outdoors to connect with colleagues, appreciate nature, and recharge.

Open to all members of the Lakehead community—students, staff, and faculty are all welcome.

We will meet in front of Simcoe Hall and walk towards rotary place and around the pond.
