(OR) De-stress Fest (Summer Edition)

As the summer (and stress levels) heats up, it's important to take some time to unwind! Drop by the picnic tables outside the dining hall to kick back and relax over your lunch break with some light refreshments, lawn games, and creative crafts. Or, you can just bring your lunch and recharge with some fresh air and sunshine. You'll also be able to chat with staff from Student Health and Wellness and Student Success to learn about the supports and services available to you (health services, mental health supports, study skill building, and leadership opportunitites, to name just a few!)

(OR) Drop-In Pickleball

Drop by the tennis courts outside Rotary Place any time between 12 pm and 2 pm to play a game of pickleball or tennis, or meet up with fellow Thunderwolves for a walk along the paths through the West Orillia Sports Complex.

Notes regarding pickleball/tennis: No experience required, we're all learning together! The courts can't be booked, so we will play on whichever courts are available.

(OR) WellU Wednesday: Snoozefest

Join Student Health and Wellness for Snoozefest, where you will play a life-sized board game called Sheeps and Scrolls, where your sleep habits decide your fate! Just like Chutes and Ladders, you'll climb toward better rest with good sleep hygiene and slide back for the not-so-great sleep decisions. You may also find yourself hanging out in a blanket fort!

Learn how to build better sleep habits and win sleep-themed prizes while you're at it! Pyjamas are highly encouraged—and might even earn you bonus chances to win.

(OR) WellU Wednesday: No Pressure, All Pleasure

Get ready, Thunderwolves, for No Pressure, All Pleasure: Consent, Relationships & All the Stuff Sex Ed Didn’t Teach Us.

Let’s be real — most of us didn’t get the full story in health class. Join us for a judgment-free, inclusive, and useful conversation about the things we wish we’d learned sooner: how to navigate consent with confidence, build healthy relationships (romantic or otherwise), communicate boundaries, and take care of your sexual health.

(OR) WellU Wednesday: Fall Flavours

Embrace the cozy vibes of autumn and nourish your body and soul at the Fall Flavours event! Take part in delicious seasonal flavours and activities with important discussions on food security and well-being. Learn about resources and support systems available both on and off campus. We can’t wait to see you there!

(OR) WellU Wednesday: Block Party

Get to know the wellness services on and off campus and meet the Lakehead staff that will be here to support you throughout your journey as a Thunderwolf! There will be lots of activities, food, crafts, and fun! We can’t wait to see you there!

This event is outdoors and weather-dependent. The rain date is Tuesday, September 9th.

Pee for Pizza

Did you know the most common symptom of a sexually transmitted infection is none at all? That’s why regular testing is one of the best ways to take care of your health and your partners'.

Student Health and Wellness, in partnership with the Thunder Bay District Health Unit’s sexual health team and LUSU, is offering confidential, drop-in STI testing at The Outpost from 11 am-2 pm.
