(OR) Stop the Stigma Kickoff

Student Health and Wellness is celebrating #NoStigmaNovember, a whole-campus initiative that aims to stop the stigma of struggling with mental health and normalize seeking help when needed. Stop by Simcoe Hall to learn about all the upcoming events and discover simple yet powerful ways to help reduce stigma and contribute to a supportive campus community.

Whether you're new to these conversations or looking to deepen your understanding, there's something here for everyone. Let's work together to Stop the Stigma—one conversation at a time.

Lakehead Fresh Market

Visit the Lakehead Fresh Market and stock up on fresh produce right on campus! The market is cashless and open to everyone in the Lakehead community, so remember to bring your own bag. Students experiencing food insecurity can also pick up discount coupons from the LUSU Food Resource Centre (UC2014b) to use at the market on Tuesday or Wednesday morning.

Take 10: World Kindness Day Bracelet Making

Join our Peer Wellness Educators for a World Kindness Day drop-in bracelet-making session! Take a break, get creative, and make a bracelet for yourself or someone else as a small act of kindness. All materials provided—just bring yourself and a friend!

(OR) safeTALK

As part of No Stigma November, Student Health and Wellness is offering safeTALK

safeTALK is a 4-hour, in-person workshop to build skills in suicide prevention. Participants will learn how to recognize and engage with someone thinking about suicide, overcome attitudes that act as barriers to help, talk openly about suicide and connect with intervention resources for further support.
