CCS Awards for Excellence in Cancer Research

How to Apply: 

Since 1993, the Canadian Cancer Society has recognized individuals who have made, and are making, valuable contributions to the cancer research ecosystem in Canada through our Awards for Excellence in Cancer Research.

The CCS is pleased to launch the 2022 Awards for Excellence in Cancer Research nomination process. To see the 2021 winners of these awards, please visit their webpage.

The nomination deadline is Monday, May 1, 2023 at 5pm ET.

 

The Canadian Cancer Society Inclusive Excellence Prize

This award recognizes an individual who has demonstrated leadership and impact in the advancement of equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility as it relates to the cancer research ecosystem in Canada.

 

The Canadian Cancer Society Lifetime Contribution Prize

This award recognizes an investigator whose contributions to cancer research in Canada extend beyond traditional research accomplishments and outputs.

 

The Canadian Cancer Society Robert L. Noble Prize

This award recognizes an outstanding investigator permanently residing in Canada whose contributions have led to significant achievements in basic biomedical cancer research.

 

The Canadian Cancer Society O. Harold Warwick Prize

This award recognizes an outstanding investigator permanently residing in Canada whose contributions have led to significant advances in cancer control in Canada.

 

The Canadian Cancer Society Bernard and Francine Dorval Prize

This award is given to an outstanding early career investigator* in Canada whose basic biomedical cancer research contributions have the potential to lead to, or have already led to, improved understanding of cancer treatments and/or cures.

 

The Canadian Cancer Society William E. Rawls Prize 

This award is given to an outstanding early career investigator* in Canada whose research in cancer control research has the potential to lead to, or has already led to, important advances in cancer control.

 

*Those who began their independent research career after December 31, 2009 are eligible for nomination.
