Prizes offered through the Climate Solutions Prize Organisation on the Climate solutions prizes, which are canadian entrepreneurship prizes:

The following two calls for applications are open to all Canadian startups. Below is some information about these two awards, for which the application deadline is March 23 at 11:59 p.m.:

Themes: Greenhouse gas reduction / Energy efficiency, renewable energy and energy storage / Development of carbon capture capacity through natural or technological means.

Breakthrough research track

  • Requires the involvement of a startup and a non-profit research organization (university, CCTT) as part of a research project.
  • TRL 4 to 9
  • Award amounts: $250,000 and $150,000 in research grants (funds must be administered through the university for the project).
  • Submission process for the first phase: 800-word summary.
  • Submission process for the second phase (if the startup is selected): 10-page detailed proposal + 5-minute video.

 

Trailblazer track

  • Minimum TRL 4 required
  • Award amount: $200,000 in non-dilutive funding shared among three winners.
  • Submission process for the first phase: Pitch deck.
  • Submission process for the second phase (if the startup is selected): Updated pitch deck + 5-minute video. A live pitch will also be evaluated during the Climate Solutions Awards Festival in Montreal in June.

No intellectual property rights are claimed by the Climate Solutions Awards organization, and the funding offered through both awards is non-dilutive. If the startups are selected in the top 10, they need to attend the Climate solutions prize festival in Montreal, in June.
