The Industrial Waste Management and Utilization Laboratory, founded and directed by Dr. Baoqiang Liao and Dr. Francisco Ramos-Pallares, focuses on developing sustainable strategies for the treatment, recovery, and reuse of industrial waste streams.

The laboratory integrates experimental and computational approaches to investigate the physicochemical properties of waste materials and to design processes that minimize environmental impact while maximizing resource efficiency. Research activities include waste characterization, pollutant mitigation, circular economy solutions, and the conversion of industrial by-products into value-added materials. By bridging fundamental science with practical applications, the laboratory aims to support environmentally responsible industrial practices and contribute to sustainable development.
