Procedures & Eligibility for Transfer Credit:
- College transfer applicants who have completed, or partially completed a college diploma, may be eligible for transfer credit.
- College transfer applicants who have completed a college diploma program will be considered for transfer credit as follows:
- Three-Year Diploma: For a three-year diploma, with a B (70%) or better cumulative average, or a B (70%) average in the last year of the program, up to 7.5 credits may be awarded. In exceptional cases, an additional 2 credits may be awarded.

- One-Year Certificate/Diploma: For a one-year certificate/diploma, with a B (70%) or better cumulative average, up to 2 credits may be awarded.
- One-year certificates will be evaluated on an individual basis for transfer credit. If the certificate coursework is deemed to be equivalent to high school level coursework, transfer credit will not be granted.
- College transfer applicants who have partially completed a college diploma program will be considered for transfer credit as follows:
- Partially Completed Three-Year Diploma: For a three-year diploma where only two full years have been completed, with a B/70% cumulative average, or B/70% average in the last year of the program, a maximum of 5 credits may be awarded.
- Partially Completed Two-Year Diploma: For a two-year diploma where only one full year has been completed, with a B/70% cumulative average, or B/70% average in the last year of the program, a maximum of 2 credits may be awarded.

Transfer credit is granted according to appropriateness of the college program, admission requirements of degree and academic achievement in relevant courses. Specific courses for transfer credit will be determined on an individual basis. For some programs, the transfer credits may be unspecified credits that can be used towards fulfilling elective requirements.
- The amount of transfer credit received depends on a number of factors including grades, previous course work, the program applied to at Lakehead University.

A transfer credit assessment will not be performed until these have been received. (Course descriptions are not required for articulation agreements).
- Enrolment Services - Undergraduate Admissions administers the awarding of transfer credits. Results of the transfer credit assessment can be found on the "For Applicants" tab of myInfo under "My Transfer Credits".
- Students are encouraged to regularly visit their Lakehead University myEmail and/or myInfo accounts to check the status of their transfer credit assessment request.
