Enrich Your Education

The Lakehead University History Society (LUHS) is a student-run club open to all students at Lakehead University with an interest in History. We encourage you to take part in this great organization to meet like-minded peers, gather information and advice from upper year students and discover new opportunities within the faculty and the workforce. LUHS organizes events each semester to ensure you will be aware of your options post-graduation.

Our Department of History also has a Peer Mentoring Program (HPMP) which allows third and fourth-year History majors and specialization students to work directly with first and second-year History students in a variety of co-curricular capacities. Participating in the HPMP in first and/or second year will help integrate you into university life and learning. Various workshops, seminars, readings and tutorials are held throughout the year to enhance your academic skills and confidence within the department.
