Lakehead University has three intake periods: Fall (September), Winter (January) and Spring/Summer (May/July).
Note: For most programs, applications will still be accepted after the recommended deadline dates below pending space availability.
Recommended Deadlines to Apply for Fall 2026 (Full Time & Part Time) Admission:
For All Undergraduate Programs*
January 15, 2026 (Ontario High School Applicants)
March 1, 2026 (College Transfer Applicants)
March 1, 2026 (International Applicants)
August 31, 2026 (Domestic Applicants)
*Excludes: Two-Year Bachelor of Education, One-Year Honours Bachelor of Social Work, Year Three of the Honours Bachelor of Social Work and Nursing.
Recommended Deadlines to All Other Undergraduate Programs for Fall 2026 Admission:
Juris Doctor Program: November 2, 2025 - CLOSED
Two-Year Bachelor of Education Program (Thunder Bay & Orillia): December 1, 2025 - EXTENDED
One-Year Honours Bachelor of Social Work & Year 3 of Social Work: December 12, 2025
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (3- and 4-year programs): January 15, 2026
Recommended Deadlines to Apply for Spring/Summer 2026 Admission:
Diploma/Degree in Technological Education Program (Thunder Bay & Orillia): December 1, 2025 - EXTENDED
Spring/Summer Entry (Part Time): April 30, 2026
Recommended Deadlines to Apply for Winter 2026 (Full Time & Part Time) Admission:
November 1, 2025 (for International Applicants)
December 1, 2025 (for Domestic Applicants)
Other Important Deadlines:
August 31, 2026 - Deadline to submit a Deferral of Admission request for Fall 2026 (Fall entry only). The deferral request form will open in July.
Please note that we do our best to update the deadline dates webpage as soon as possible. In some instances, it may not be possible to update the website before the application has been closed on the OUAC website or on our internal application. If the application is closed on the OUAC website, it is truly closed for the current cycle. If the program is not listed on our internal application, it is also closed for the current cycle.
