Species at Risk Stewardship Fund - 2018/2019 Call for Proposals

How to Apply:

Applications are now being accepted by the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry for the 2018/19 Species at Risk Stewardship Fund (SARSF). Applications must be received electronically by 3:00pm (EST) on Thursday, October 26, 2017.

The 2018/19 SARSF Guidelines and Application Form can be found by following the links on the Ontario Species at Risk website: https://www.ontario.ca/environment-and-energy/species-risk-stewardship-fund. Applicants are asked to carefully read the guidelines before completing and submitting an application.

Priorities have been identified for the 2018/19 funding year and are outlined within the guidelines. Please review the priorities in detail. Applications that do not address a 2018/19 priority will only be considered for funding after priority applications.

Applications are being accepted through our online Stewardship Portal: www.sps.mnr.gov.on.ca. Please Note: new applicants must register for an account before being able to access the portal / submit an application.  Applicants are advised to set up their account early in order to ensure suitable time before the submission deadline. Accounts can take up to 3 business days to activate. If you applied to the SARSF through the Stewardship Portal previously, please log-in using the username already assigned to you. To learn more, please see the attached Stewardship Portal Manual, and frequently asked questions document.

Applicants are encouraged to contact species experts, including their local MNRF Biologists/Ecologists, early in the planning process for advice on developing their project proposals. Local MNRF staff can also assist applicants in determining whether an authorization under the Endangered Species Act may be required.
