Community-based climate action projects

Launched September 17, 2020, the request for proposals for community-based climate action projects will provide knowledge, tools and/or skills that lead to or engage communities in climate action. This request for proposals will provide from $100,000 to $6 million to eligible organizations, for a total of up to $50 million over five years.

September 17, 2020, to October 21, 2020, at 11:59 pm EDT

Eligible activities

The types of support, outreach and resources provided through community-based climate action projects may include workshops, networking, training, virtual platforms, climate awareness activities – including those related to Indigenous Knowledge – and more. These activities should enable communities to take action on climate change.

In addition, the lead applicant's project activities must focus on a specific community. Strong proposals will demonstrate knowledge of the community, why the project is needed, and how it will support the objective. Potential communities include, but are not limited to:

• Indigenous communities
• communities facing obstacles to engaging in climate action
• communities experiencing low engagement on climate action
• communities with significant exposure to climate risk

Canadian Blood Services is pleased to announce its 2020 Graduate Fellowship Program competition. Through this exciting Program, Canadian Blood Services offers stipend support for young investigators who want to initiate or continue training in the field of transfusion science. Graduate students undertaking full-time research training in a Canadian institution are invited to apply.
