Canadian Harkness Fellowship

How to Apply: 

Harkness Fellowships offer a unique opportunity for promising mid-career professionals who share our passion for safe and high-quality healthcare - including health and social service providers, researchers, policy-makers, journalists and others with improvement experience. fellows spend a year in the U.S., supported by a mentor, researching healthcare delivery system reform and critical issues that are on the current healthcare policy agenda in the U.S. and Canada.

Following the fellowship, alumni can apply their knowledge and experience to healthcare improvements in Canada and often progress to senior leadership positions within academia, government and healthcare organizations. Alumni benefit from the strong and lasting network of international contacts they develop through the fellowship.

The Harkness Fellowship awards include funding to cover:roundtrip airfare to the U.S.,  living allowance, project-related travel and research, health insurance, and U.S. federal and state taxes. Supplemental funding for the fellows’ accompanying family is also included.
