Call for Nominations for Emerging Leaders in Health Sciences
The Canadian Academy of Health Sciences (CAHS) is pleased to announce the call for nominations for Emerging Leaders in Health Sciences. The deadline for submissions is Friday May 22, 2026.
The successful candidates will be recognized for a period of five (5) years, during which they will participate, among other things, in a CAHS mentoring program.
Eligible candidates must answer “YES” to all of the following questions:
- Are you within 8 years (between May 22, 2018 and May 22, 2026) of the last degree completed (PhD, MSc., M.D., J.D., DVM, PharmD, etc.)?
- (Please note that leaves of absence are not included in the 8 years. Leaves of absence should be reported to explain any period that is beyond 8 years.)
In the last 8 years:
- Do you have achievements or recognitions that demonstrate your leadership skills/ abilities in your discipline?
- Do you have achievements or recognitions that demonstrate your ability to establish collaborations and networking in the local, national or international scientific and/or scholar community?
- Do you have achievements or recognitions that demonstrate you have contributed positively to improve health sciences?
- Do you have achievements or recognitions that demonstrate your commitment or your success in promoting inclusivity, diversity, equity, and accessibility (IDEA) in healthcare, research, education, or outreach activities?
The Emerging Leaders in health sciences Nomination Dossier will include:
- Eligibility Questionnaire including leaves of absence explanation
- Data sheet on the candidate including citation, and key words
- Personal statements from the candidate
- Three (3) letters of support. Each letter must be no longer than two (2) pages
- Curriculum vitae (no longer than 10 pages).
- Proof of degree completion within the last 8 years.

Final decisions will be made by the Board of Directors of the Academy of Health Sciences in June and the results will be announced in July.
