Project 1: Institutional Research Security Plan Development and Continued Research Security and Data Management Advisory Services at Lakehead University 

$61,016 invested in the continued operation of the Research Security and Data Management Specialist position and the development of Lakehead University's Institutional Research Security Plan. 

*Developing and submitting Lakehead University's Institutional Research Security Plan in alignment with the research security priorities of the Ministry of Colleges, Universities, Research Excellence and Security (MCURES).

*Providing continued advisory services to faculty, graduate students, and research administrators for compliance with federal and provincial research security requirements. 

*Developing institutional research security policies and technical resources that operationalise the Research Security and Data Management Framework established in 2025-26.

*Number of researcher touch points logged by the Research Security and Data Management Specialist.

*Institutional Research Security Plan submitted by December 31, 2026. 

*Number of research security information sessions delivered. 

*Number of participants who completed online research security training 

*Percentage of high-risk researchers receiving support. 

*Number of STRAC attestations reviewed. 

*RDM Toolkit and Research Security Toolkit launched and publicly accessible. 

*Risk Mitigation Tool developed and launched on a researcher-facing website. 

*Research Travel Security Loaner Device Program officially launched and available to researchers
