Poster Competition Award - AUTO21 Conference

Congratulations to Hillary Maxwell, a 2008 graduate of the Master of Public Health Program at Lakehead University, and a team of researchers from the Centre for Research on Safe Driving (CRSD) at Lakehead University.

Together they earned a 2nd place finish, out of 70 participants, in the Poster Competition at the Annual AUTO21 Conference held May 22-23, 2013, Toronto, Ontario. The AUTO21 Conference recognizes contributions to Canadian automotive research and development.  

The award-winning poster, rated by a panel of industry experts, contained research findings from a study entitled: "Acceptability of 1-Screen and 3-Screen Simulators for Assessing Driving Capacity."

The award is accompanied by a $3,500 prize.

MPH Candidate to present Thesis Research proposal - Ottawa

Ms. Afekwo Mbonu, a 2013 candidate for the Master of Public Health, has been accepted to present her Thesis Research  proposal on March 8, 2013 at the 16th Interdisciplinary Conference of the Graduate Students' Association, University of Ottawa. 

The conference, entitled Transformative Research:  Creativity, Conversations and Communities of Change, will be held March 1st, 8th, 15th, and 22nd at the University of Ottawa.

The title of Afekwo's presentation is "Beyond the problem & the intervention, understanding contextual factors influencing adoption of a comprehensive school health program". 

Afekwo previously presented her proposal on February 11th, 2013 at the Lakehead University Graduate Studies conference, as part of the University's Research & Innovation Week 2013.
