Undergraduate Courses
We offer an exciting range of courses that integrate theory and practice through a range of modes of instruction. All our classes involve some degree of hands-on learning and challenge students to think critically about social and environmental issues related to outdoor recreation, parks and tourism.
In 1st year, you will take these courses:

- Outdoor Skills and Theory I
- Foundations of Outdoor Recreation
- Group Dynamics and Outdoor Leadership
In 2nd year, you will take these courses:
- Specialized and Inclusive Therapeutic Recreation
- Nature-based Tourism
- Programming
- Outdoor Skills and Theory II
- People and Parks
In 3rd year, there are three mandatory classes (Risk Management in Outdoor Recreation, Evaluation and Assessment, and Field Explorations I) plus many elective courses such as:
- Outdoor Adventure
- Food Systems
- Foundations in Interpretation
- Indigenous Protected & Conserved Areas
- Outdoor Recreation Entrepreneurship
- Community Tourism Planning
- Recreation Ecology
- Honours Project I
In 4th year, all students must complete Field Explorations II and have a range of elective courses to complete their program.
