The Bachelor of Engineering Degree programs offered at the Thunder Bay Campus are accredited by the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board (CEAB).  Lakehead University  Thunder Bay has the only Faculty of Engineering in Canada where you can earn a Bachelor of Engineering Degree AND an Engineering Technology Diploma in four years!

Lakehead University's unique undergraduate engineering programs at the Thunder Bay campus are illustrated here. Students can enter the first year of the Bachelor of Engineering degree programs directly from high school, or if additional academic preparation is required, by successfully completing the Common Year in Applied Science. The unique structure of Lakehead’s Engineering programs permits students to complete the requirements of the Engineering Technology Diploma in their respective field by the end of the second year of the Bachelor of Engineering program. A Bachelor of Engineering degree in Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical or Software Engineering can be earned in two more years of study. A co-op education/internship option is available in all Lakehead’s BEng programs. An integrated Bachelor of Engineering (BEng)/Master of Business Administration (MBA) is also available in all Thunder Bay campus BEng programs.

The special design of the 4-year Bachelor of Engineering degrees at the Lakehead University Thunder Bay campus enables qualified engineering technology graduates from accredited Canadian technology programs to enter the BEng program after completing post-diploma transition courses offered in the summer session prior to third year. The Summer Transition program, offered in July and August, is designed to assist qualified engineering technologists make the transition to university studies. BACHELOR OF ENGINEERING – LAKEHEAD-GEORGIAN PARTNERSHIP

Earn a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) from Lakehead University with Advanced Diploma (Electrical Engineering Technology) from Georgian College through the Lakehead-Georgian Partnership.

The BEng (Electrical Engineering)* Lakehead-Georgian Partnership by Lakehead University and Georgian College offers an integrated Bachelor of Engineering Degree and Electrical Engineering Technology Advanced Diploma. Offered at the Georgian College Barrie campus, students will complete both a degree and a diploma in 4 years.


* Graduates of the Lakehead-Georgian Partnership will be awarded a Lakehead University Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree. In addition, the Lakehead-Georgian partnership program will seek accreditation with the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board (CEAB) when the initial cohort reaches year-4 per the standard CEAB process that is used for all Lakehead BEng programs.
