Lakehead offers a number of sustainable dining options on both of our campuses. Our ‘all-you-care to eat’ dining plans include plant-based and locally-sourced foods and feature reusable diningware and utensils. In both Thunder Bay and Orillia, you can take advantage of reusable mug programs that reduce waste and often offer a discount on your beverage. 

LUSU, Lakehead’s Student Union, operates the Food Resource Centre which serves students in both Thunder Bay and Orillia. Our Food and Conference Services Department oversees food and catering services on both campuses.

In Thunder Bay, our food provider, Aramark has signed the Cool Food Pledge which commits to reducing the carbon footprint of food offerings by at least 25% by 2030. Learn more about Aramark's approach to sustainability.

In Orillia, our Bottled Water Policy prevents the sale of single-use bottled water which reduces plastic waste and over time, saves users money as well.
