The Faculty of Natural Resources Management presents

Please join us in person or by zoom for an engaging talk from Karen Saunders, Director of Wildlife and Industry at WWF-Canada. All are welcome!

Karen is the Director of Industry and Wildlife at WWF-Canada. She is an energetic professional forester with an extensive background in natural resources, including work in the forestry, mining and energy infrastructure sectors. Most recently, she spent 7 years working for 24 First Nations on the majority Indigenous-owned Wataynikaneyap Power transmission line project, planned and built in accordance with community advice and priorities. 

Karen has a Master of Environmental Studies from Dalhousie University and is a Registered Professional Forester in Ontario. Over the course of her career, she has worked with many First Nation, provincial and federal governments and a number of private companies on environment and industry projects across Canada. Her work has included land use, forest management, and water management planning; environmental assessments; socio-economic research; stakeholder and Indigenous engagement; and government permit and process navigation. 

This presentation will include an overview of WWF-Canada and projects and a particular focus on the work of the team led by Karen on Wildlife and Industry.
