Professor Tenille E Brown is an Assistant Professor in the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law at Lakehead University where she teaches in the areas of technology law, property law, wills and estates, and Aboriginal legal issues and serves as the Faculty Advisor for the Intellectual Property Law Clinic housed at the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law. Her research examines the intersection between land, property, geography and technology, with a focus on spatial theory. Professor Brown is a member of the Center for Law, Technology and Society at the University of Ottawa, and the Human Rights Research and Education Centre at the University of Ottawa. Professor Brown is a barrister and solicitor at the Bar of Ontario and as a practising lawyer she worked with the Samuelson Glushko Canadian Internet Policy and Public Interest law clinic, where she worked on a privacy matter heard at the Supreme Court of Canada and provided legal advice to technology start-up companies. Tenille holds an LLM from the University of Ottawa in the field of Aboriginal law and an LLB (Scots law) from the University of Dundee, Scotland. Prior to her academic work, Tenille worked in the Kingdom of Eswatini (formerly the Kingdom of Swaziland) as a legal officer in a national feminist rights organisation.
