Intellectual Wellness: Being open to new ideas and experiences while embracing our creativity, thinking critically, and expanding our knowledge and skill sets.
Intellectual Wellness includes, but is not limited to:

Students:
Lakehead University Libraries
The library website is your main access point for everything related to library services, spaces, and collections. Here are a few useful tools and resources available for our students:
- OMNI Academic Search Tool to find books, journal articles, films, and more.
- interlibrary loan connects you to resources that goes beyond our local collection.
- Ask - Chat with a Librarian service provides real-time chat-based research assistance online.
- Book an appointment for a research consultation with your liaison librarian or our archivist.
- Sign up for available workshops.
Academic Support Zone
The Zone offers Study Club group-based sessions in STEM-based disciplines facilitated by trained and friendly Academic Peer Mentors, limited peer-tutoring services, writing coaching, workshops to improve the skills you’ll need to succeed at university, and a Brain Fuel Program with free beverages and snacks.

The Leadership Development Program: LVLup Leadership Program
Join us in taking part in our new LVLup Leadership program. Our program aims to provide students with the opportunity to connect with their peers, the communities around them, as well as develop strong leadership skills and qualities.

Employee Benefits
Did you know? As a benefits plan member with Green Shield Canada (GSC), you have access to a variety of additional health and wellness resources.
GSC Digital Pharmacy - Health Depot
This is a brand-new service available through GSC. Perks of the Health Depot include free next-day delivery, lower dispensing fees, consultation with a pharmacist, and the ability to assign others to an account which allows another person to manage prescriptions on a plan member's behalf.

Mobile Safety App
Lakehead University has partnered with AppArmor to give students, faculty, staff and visitors a faster way to access resources on campus. Our MobileSafety app includes emergency contacts, a safety toolbox, and other important resources available at the touch of a button. Safety alerts can be communicated in real time on the app. The app allows users to easily access our walk-safe program, to quickly contact security if needed, and to use tools that can help in an emergency.
The app is available through the Apple Store and Google Play.
Safe Walk Program (Orillia)
Safe Walk service is available for all students, staff and faculty members. If you feel uncomfortable or unsafe walking alone, you can be accompanied to your vehicle or bus stop by a member of the Lakehead Orillia security team.
- Main Campus - Please visit the Security Office or call 705-330-4008, ext. 2009. Safe Walk is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
- Faculty of Education (Heritage Place) - Please visit the Security Office or call 705-330-4027. Safe Walk will take place within a one-block radius of the campus and is available Monday to Thursday from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. during the school year.
