As the Coordinator of Instructional Development, I am here to help instructors with all things teaching related -- on-campus, online, hybrid, or Zoom-based. This includes general pedagogy inquiries, best practices, course design, class management, assignment or assessment planning and implementation, (inter)active learning, student engagement, innovation in a course or class, open educational resources (OERs), troubleshooting, etc.

I am also available for peer evaluation of teaching (in-class or online), assistance with teaching philosophies and dossier preparation, mentoring (short or longer term), and general conversations about teaching, the class experience, professional development, the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL), and many other topics that arise in the teaching life.

Finally, I facilitate the Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (TLHE) certificate for our graduate students.

In all this, my decades of teaching in English, Languages, and Anthropology (on campus and online) inform my work as both an instructor myself and as the Coordinator of Instructional Development. And, to keep my pedagogical practice current, I continue to work in the Department of Languages, teaching Latin, linguistics, etymology, and classical mythology (depending on the year's needs).

Always feel free to contact me: if I can’t help you, I can almost certainly direct you to someone who can!
